The question of "what kind of music do you listen to?" is very troubling for me. Like most people, I don’t have just one favourite style of music. Well, for certain I have many favourites in original soundtracks (OST) for games (e.g.: Mass Effect, Rainbow Six), trailers (by Two Steps From Hell) and movies (e.g. Black Hawk Down), as well as in rock genre (e.g.: The Rolling Stones, Deep Purple). Obviously, the best are tracks which except for bringing me enjoyment, also make me remember positive memories of travels, events and arts I watched during listening.
This is my top 10 (warning: exterior links and descriptions below my contain spoilers for games and movies):
1. He’s Dead & Cover Fire - Hans Zimmer
From the part of "Black Hawk Down" (2001) movie, when vehicle convoy returns to the base and encounters heavy resistance. The "get on that .50" moment.
2. Heart of Courage (Choir) - Two Steps From Hell
Very motivating song used in many trailers. The example is "Mass Effect 2".
3. The Sound of Silence - Simon & Garfunkel
The example of proper usage was in "Watchmen" (2009) during Comedian’s funeral scene.
4. Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield Theme - Bill Brown
The most pumping piece of music I have so far. Generally, the series of "Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six" does not belong to the easiest.
5. Paint it Black - The Rolling Stones
It’s a very good song, but I won’t paint my room black anyway.
6. Angie - The Rolling Stones
Another demotivating track. This one served me well for playing FOnline multiplayer game.
7. An End, Once and For All - Clint Mansell & Sam Hulick
The background for "Mass Effect 3" ending. If only this ending was as good as the one from "Extended Cut" free DLC...
8. The End Run - Jack Wall
From the ending of "Mass Effect 2". And the Harbie’s evil plan went to...
9. Freedom Fighters (No Choir) - Two Steps From Hell
The song reminds me science fiction theme. Maybe because it was used in "Star Trek" (2009) trailer.
10. We Fought As A United Galaxy - Sam Hulick
The alternative epilogue from Extended Cut" DLC for Mass Effect 3" video game. Fortunately, I didn’t have this ending, though I’ve checked it on YouTube and found it depressive.
